SaaS isn’t dead. But something faster, smaller, and more creative is coming for it.
I’ve been diving into the rise of AI-native microtools; tiny apps that do one thing well, often built by solo makers in a day or two.
One platform leading the charge is Lovable Since launching publicly in April, they’ve:
- enabled the creation of more than 10 million apps, at a pace of 100,000+ new projects per day
- grown from $1 million ARR to over $100 million ARR in just eight months—making it one of the fastest-growing software companies ever
Most of these tools won’t last.
But some are showing surprising traction and solving problems SaaS doesn’t touch because they’re too niche, too weird, or too small to monetize at scale.
What excites me here isn’t the AI hype... and there is plenty of hype.
It’s what happens when building software becomes as easy as posting an Instagram story.
I’ll be exploring this shift; sharing patterns, highlights, and honest observations.
If you’re following the space too - builders, operators, investors, - I’d love to trade notes.
